Welcome to the Grove Lawn Tennis Club.

In Malahide, a town with a rich diversity of sports clubs, some of them highly successful in competitive terms, one small distinctly family-oriented tennis club stands out from the crowd.

As you walk away from the hustle and bustle of the busy village centre, you stroll down a beautiful mature tree-lined laneway. The sound of children’s laughter and shouts of joy are the only give away to what is hidden behind the trees, simply described as a little oasis.

With four immaculately maintained grass courts (a rarity in Irish tennis circles), a traditional green-painted corrugated iron clubhouse, no floodlights, the Grove Lawn Tennis Club is considered locally – and by anyone who visits – to be a hidden gem.

From small beginnings in 1959, the Grove has enjoyed steady growth and today remains true to its founding principles of bringing tennis to members of all ages and background, but with special emphasis on family membership.  Only open in the summer months, the club now boasts 900 members ranging in age from 1 to 81.

It’s like stepping back in time, with the same family-friendly ethos that encourages great tennis, great friendships and great memories. Members leave the club reluctantly at the end of every season in September and can’t wait for it to be open again in April.

The Grove LTC – Lawn Tennis played on real grass, providing real fun in a relaxed atmosphere – a Club in the truest meaning of the word.
